The purpose of this research was to
determine effectiveness of the learning of Mind mapping technique to improve
the decision of making skill of the fifth grade students. The design of the study was
making some groups. The population of the research was fifth grade students of
elementary school in Rogojampi. The samples were 40 students from MI Islamiyah
Rogojampi. The instrument used in this study was multiple choice tests. The
collected data was analyzing by descriptive and inferential analysis. Results
showed the science learning by using Mind mapping Technique can improve the
students in vocabulary.

INTRODUCTION
Mastering English
vocabulary is necessary to hold English language, because vocabulary is the
basic for mastering speaking, reading, listening and writing. Coady and Huckin (1997:5)
in Ulfi (2012:1) said that vocabulary is central to language and of critical
importance to the typical language learners. Vocabulary is the basic to learn
four English skills. It is supported by Thornbury in Ulfi ( 2007:13 ) that by
mastering vocabulary we can convey language, because we can say with little
grammar, but we cannot say if there are not vocabularies. May students are lack
of stock of the word. The students who have little knowledge of vocabulary will
face some difficulties to understand the written language and oral language.
From the statement
above, the young learners should master vocabulary in Learning English. The
young learners can learn with fun and conducive situation because they
sometimes feel bored with monotonous lesson. It is supported by Hasan (2011:16)
learning is right, learning must be fun, conducive and enable children to
become motivated and enthusiastic. So, english teachers should have a
technique that makes the learner interested in learning vocabulary.
Based on preliminary study,
the researcher found that the teaching learning process to the young learner in
class V at MI Islamiyah Rogojampi are very crowded and most of learners were not interested in
learning process. The teacher did not use media and interesting activities. It
makes the young learners felt bored with the lesson. Further, they had
difficulties to master vocabulary, because the teacher did not create a fun
technique to make the young learners understand in comprehending new
vocabularies and being active in learning vocabulary. The researcher also found
that the teacher did not make a lesson plan. Since, it is known that lesson
plan is the important thing teacher should prepare before conducting a teaching
learning process.
As it is known that in
considering the problems found in preliminary study, the researcher offers a technique
to the class to create an interesting teaching and learning, so both of the teacher
and the young learners enjoy in vocabulary class. The technique offered is mindmapping since it combines both and become whole brain.
As the researcher knows
that in learning vocabulary, memori sensory has important value. The young
learners need balance in usage of the left brain and right brain. Whole brain
is needed by the young learners to think perfectly. Right brain is for
creativity and visualization. Left brain is for logical and rational. Buzan in
Rostikawati (2008:78) states that Mindmapping is a simpleway to enter
information into the brain and to re-take the information from the brain. Using
mindmapping, the young learners starts with the teacher’s main topic or the
team as the central idea and allows the main branches of main mapping to
represent the main points of their thought (right brain) then combined by
interesting colors and colors (leaf brain) which will stimulate the brain.
Thornbury (2002:18) says that, acquiring a vocabulary requires not only
labeling but categorizing skills. So, the young learners are easier to memorize
vocabulary. They will learn vocabulary by words grouping in using mindmapping
technique.
The previous study by
Ulfi entitled “Mindmapping Technique To Improve Students’ Mastering Vocabulary
In TKIT Al-Kautsar On The 2011 – 2012 Academic Year”. The differences using mind
mapping in TKIT and MI. In TKIT, the researcher just introduces vocabulary and
playing game with mind mapping technique to the students. And in MI, mind
mapping used by the researcher to improve the students’ vocabulary.
Based
on the explanation above, the researcher entitled “Improving of students’
Vocabulary achievement Using Mind Mapping on the Fifth grade at MI Islamiyah
Rogojampi In The 2013 – 2014 Academic Year, will be conducted.

Learning
english for young learners is very important. It’s because in the future,
english is needed by them. Such as, to go abroad, to enter in the internationals
school, to get job, etc. Most of parents, they give english to their daughters
or sons earlier. They want to their daughters or sons know more about english
earlier. So, their daughter or sons can comprehen the phrases, words, sentences
and also paragraphs. And they are also able to read, speak, write and listen
english well. But, there are the difficult things when the young learners learn
about english. It’s about they less in vocabulary, less feeling confident and
lazy to learn. All of it are the three difficult things when the young learners
learn about english.
Most of the young learners, they still less in
vocabulary. Actually vocabulary is very important to learn, when the young
learners want to learn english. All of the skills in learning english need
vocabulary. If the young learners less
in vocabulary. They not ability yet to comprehen english text and master all of
the skills in learning english. Here, vocabulary is very important to learn to
the young learners. To sum up, they are have to master in vocabulary and learn
english fluently and well.
Feeling Confident is very important
when the young learners learn about english. It’s because in speaking skill, young
learners need to perform to show their ability in speaking. When they are
performed, they have to keep confident. In speaking performance they have to
keep their attitude, speech and appropriate gesture. If the young learners
don’t have felling confident and don’t keep their attitude, speech and
appropriate gesture. It means they fell nervous and they can’t control their
performance. So , their speaking can run well. Sum up, all of young learners
have to have felling confident about their performance.
The difficult things when the young
learners learn english is lazy to learn. Most of the young learners. They still
lazy to learn. They still want to play and play. They don’t want to learn
english. Here, the role of parents, teachers, and people in their environment
is very important to support them learn english. Most of young learners usually
don’t want to learn, it’s because they don’t get support from other people. So
they lazy to learn. At least, lazy to learn is one of the difficult thing when
young learners learn english.
To sum up, learning english for
young learners is very important. It can make them know more about english earlier. But, there are
the difficult things when young learners learn english. It’s about they less in
vocabulary, less confident and lazy to learn. All of it are the three difficult
things when young learners learn english.

Having
a job at university.
Having a job at university gives
advantages and disadvantages to the students. Many advantages that the students
get when they have a job. They get much money, new knowledge and experience.
The students like to do it. It’s because they can help their parents to bear
the output of their financial. It’s about to pay the financial in the
university and also the students’ requirement in dailylife. They are also very
proud with themselves. They able to get new knowledge and experience about a
job and get much money. But, there are many disadvantages, when the students have
a job at university. They can’t manage time well. Their schedule usually
struck. They usually confused to choose, between doing a job or studying at
university. And their score usually descend from usual. It’s because their time
to study isn’t enough. So, they get low score. The other disadvantages when the
students having a job at university is the students’ time to play with their
friends. They can’t play together in an interesting places and chat with the
other. In conclusion, there are many advantages and disadvantages when the
students having a job at university.

Education
influences human’s life. People have to get knowlegde. For instance, in formal,
informal and non formal learning. Especially, in formal learning. People are as
students. They communicate with other students, teacher and etc. In school,
there are many facilities provide there. All of the members of school can use
it. It is supposes to support. At least, help the all of the members in school
more understand with the material or lesson. Nowadays, learning english is the
most popular lessons in many school. To able to mastering that lesson. The
students have to learn three important skills in learning english. They are
speaking, listening and writing.
Speaking
is one of important skills in learning english. It’s because speaking is used
to communicate with other people. All of people have to able to speak clear and
well. It’s because when people can’t speak well. It means that they can’t
communicate with other people. At least, their commmunication can’t run well.
The
other important skills in learning english is listening. Why listening is
include in the important skills in learning english. It’s because people who
want to make communication they have to able to listen well what the other
people say. If they can’t listen well. Their communication will be
misuderstanding. And there is no information they got.
Writing
is also the important skills in learning english. It’s because not only speaking
and listening, but also writing skills is needed in learning english. When
people speak, they have to know about the structure of phrases, word and
sentences of what they are talking. And also when they listen what the other
people speak. They think about the spelling or structure of the sentences.
To
sum up, speaking, listening and writing are the three important skills in
learning english. It means if people wants to learn english well. They have to
mastering the three important skills. If they have one or two skills only. It
means that they not perfect yet. It because to learn english. It need the three
important skills. In case, people have to matered in speaking,listening and
writing.
